What size does VAROLO helmet come in?

VAROLO Astra Helmet is available in the sizes M and L, and all have an adjustment system to adjust the tension.

Size M: 55-59 cm (21.6 - 23.2 inch)
Size L: 58-62 cm (22.8 - 24.4 inch)

Taking your head size measurement is super easy. Simply wrap a measuring tape around your head, running it across your forehead center and right above your ears. Hold the tape flat and even all the way around, then record the reading in either centimeters or inches.

Is the VAROLO helmet waterproof?

VAROLO Astra Helmet delivers reliable operation under various weather conditions. Rated IPX6 water-resistant, it withstands heavy rain and splashes, ideal for most riding applications.

Please note: Water-resistant ≠ fully waterproof. Do not submerge the helmet or expose it to prolonged high-pressure water. Long-term exposure to persistent heavy rain or direct water jets may gradually impair its performance.

What if my helmet is damaged in a crash?

We strongly recommend replace the helmet after a significant impact—even if you cannot see damage. An impact can reduce protection without leaving visible signs.

How do I perform a full factory reset on my VAROLO Astra helmet?

Full Factory Reset Instructions for VAROLO Astra Ultra Helmet:
Power the helmet on
Press and hold Power (M) + Volume (+) together
Stop holding when the green light flashes – reset complete

Warning: This process will erase all custom settings, disconnect the app, and unpair any devices. After resetting, you’ll need to set everything up from scratch.

Pro Tip: A factory reset is the most effective troubleshooting step for resolving any issues with your VAROLO Astra Ultra helmet.

How long does my order take to arrive?

How long does my order take to arrive?
It depends on your location, but generally anywhere from 3-18 business days is a good estimate. Please note that during the holiday (peak) season, it might take longer to process and ship your order.

How can I track my order?

Once you place an order, You’ll receive a confirmation email. If it doesn’t appear in your inbox, check your spam or junk folder. Our team will pick and pack your order. If an item is out of stock, we’ll notify you and issue a refund.

Once your order ships, we’ll send you a shipping email that includes your tracking information.

How can I return my order?

we do offer a 30-day free return shipping policy. Returns are accepted for a full refund (excl. shipping fees and taxes) or a discount/store credit voucher from the date of arrival/receiving the product.

Please refer to our Return Policy for detailed return requirements and process.

Please note your helmet needs to be in a re-sellable condition for return. If the helmet is marked as unsellable for any reason whatsoever, we'll not be able to process your refund. The decision that our partners at our return warehouses make is final.

What if I don’t have the original VAROLO box for my return?

Unfortunately, we cannot process a return without the original packaging and all included items. The product must be placed in its original box to qualify for a return. Make sure all accessories and components that came with the product are included in the return.

How long will it take to receive my refund?

Please ensure the items are in new condition, are charged (at least 4 hours) and still in their original, intact packaging. Once we receive and inspect your returned items (this can take up to 5 business days), we’ll issue a refund for the amount paid, including any taxes.

How do I claim my warranty?

All VAROLO products are covered by a 1-year warranty worldwide. For customers in the European Union, the United Kingdom, and Norway, the warranty period extends to 2 years in accordance with regional consumer protection laws. This warranty covers eligible manufacturing defects or malfunctions, which will be repaired or replaced at no cost to the customer.

Is there any certification that VAROLO Astra helmets have?

VAROLO Astra helmets are certified to meet the following rigorous safety standards for bicycles and e-bikes:
NTA-8776 — The more stringent standard dedicated to fast electric bicycles (up to 45 km/h)
EN1078 — Mandatory European standard for bicycle helmets
CPSC — Applicable in North America

Does the smart system affect VAROLO helmets safety performance?

No.
The electronic components are integrated into the helmet without compromising the protective structure. All electronics are positioned to maintain impact protection and structural integrity.

Does VAROLO helmets detect crashes automatically?

Only the VAROLO Astra Ultra helmet can detect severe impacts and falls using built-in Fall Detection system.
When Crash Detection is enabled in the app:
A fall is detected.
A 60-second countdown begins.
If not canceled, an SOS alert with your GPS location is sent to your emergency contact.

How does the VAROLO Astra Ultra helmet avoid false crash alerts?

The system analyzes multiple factors including:
Impact force
Fall angle
Sudden acceleration changes
Motion patterns after impact

This helps distinguish real accidents from normal road vibrations and rough terrain.

Does my helmet work for all types of riding?

VAROLO Astra helmets made by us are perfect for riding around the city, commuting, and riding e-bikes and scooters.
Motorcycles, skiing, and snowboarding are not appropriate for wearing them. For such activities, you will need a helmet designed for higher speeds and different types of impact.

How visible are VAROLO helmet lights during the day and at night?

VAROLO helmet lights are designed to be highly visible not only during daylight hours, but also during the nighttime conditions.

As a result, other road users can see you more clearly, ensuring greater safety no matter what the time or lighting conditions.

How do turn signals work?

Turn signals are controlled using the handlebar-mounted wireless remote.
Turn signals will not work without the remote.
Left button → Left indicator
Right button → Right indicator
The turn signal automatically turns off after approximately 5 seconds.

Does VAROLO helmet have a brake light?

Yes.
The built-in motion sensor automatically detects braking or rapid deceleration and activates the brake warning light.

What light modes are available?

Three lighting modes are available:

Solid Mode — Maximum visibility

Eco Mode — Long battery life with slow flashing mode

Rain Mode — Fast flashing mode for poor visibility conditions

Actual runtime depends on the selected mode, battery condition, temperature, and use of other electronic features.

Can I turn the lights off completely?

Yes.
The front and back lights integrated into the helmet can be turned on or off by a single press of the power button located at the bottom of the helmet.
The app reflects the current lighting status but does not override physical button controls.

Do VAROLO helmets support group communication?

Yes.

Only the VAROLO Astra Ultra helmet support Mesh Intercom communication for group riding.

Does Mesh communication require a mobile network?

No.
Mesh communication works directly between helmets and does not require:
Mobile signal
SIM cards
Internet connection

How many riders can communicate together?

Up to 10 riders can participate in the same Mesh communication group.

What is the communication range?

Under ideal conditions:
Up to 1 km communication range
Direct helmet-to-helmet communication

Actual range may vary depending on terrain, buildings, and environmental interference.

What is the difference between Open Mode and Group Mode?

What audio system does the helmet use?

The VAROLO Astra Ultra helmet uses removable bone-conduction audio technology.

This allows riders to:

Make calls

Communicate via Mesh

Listen to music

Stay aware of surrounding traffic without blocking the ears

Can the audio module be removed?

Yes.
The bone-conduction module is designed to be removable and replaceable.

Can I answer phone calls while riding?

Yes.

The VAROLO Astra Ultra helmet supports Bluetooth phone calls and voice prompts.

Is it necessary to charge the VAROLO Helmet even if I'm not using it?

VAROLO products, such as helmets, lights, remotes, and accessories, use lithium-ion batteries. The batteries are designed for long-term performance, but lithium-based cells can degrade over time if left uncharged.

If lithium batteries are not charged regularly, they can go into a deep discharge state, which restricts their ability to hold a charge. In some cases, the battery may stop working altogether.To maintain battery health, charge your VAROLO unit a minimum of once per month, regardless of whether it is being actively used.

Is the battery replaceable?

Yes.

The modular design allows the battery/electronic module to be serviced or replaced. Follow the user manual or contact Support rather than opening or modifying the helmet yourself.

Will I know when the battery is running low?

Yes.
The helmet provides battery-level indications during startup and shutdown, helping riders monitor remaining power before a ride.

How long does it take to fully charge VAROLO helmet battery?

Approximately three hours under the stated charging conditions. Actual time can vary with charger output, temperature, battery condition, and remaining charge.

Does cold weather affect battery performance?

Like all lithium batteries, extreme cold temperatures can reduce runtime.The battery system is designed to operate between approximately:-10°C to 60°C (14°F to 140°F)

Is it necessary to download an app for the VAROLO helmet?

Only the VAROLO Astra Ultra helmet requires downloading the app.
The app is required for:
Crash Detection and SOS setup
Light Mode settings
Mesh Intercom mode selection
Ride statistics
Device management

What information does the app collect?

The app may collect:
Device information
Ride statistics
Optional GPS data
Emergency contact information
Only features that require this data will access it.

Is my location shared with other users?

No.

Your location is not publicly shared and is used for enabled functions such as ride tracking, navigation-related features, and SOS alerts. Emergency-location information may be sent to your designated contact when SOS is triggered.
